In Grand Cayman if you’re booked to go out on any sort of boat with an independent, the tours being cancelled by the ship will give you a clue.

When all of this sort of thing is being cancelled by the ship, yours will probably be too. No reputable indepentent tour operators will be going under dangerous sea conditions.

We met some folks who had their’s to Stingray City cancelled by a well know independent (all the ship’s had been cancelled as well) and was trying to find any to there they could take from anyone. :rolleyes:

Didn’t seem like a good idea to me. Do you think that was a wise thing for them to do?

New Zealand Hit by 7.2 Magnitude Earthquake

(Sept. 3) — A large, 7.2 magnitude earthquake has struck the nation of New Zealand.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred at 4:35 a.m. local time Saturday. The epicenter of the quake was 19 miles northwest of the city of Christchurch, New Zealand’s second largest urban area with approximately 375,000 residents.

The quake was also felt in New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, 186 miles from the epicenter.

Widespread damage and power outages have been reported, according to The Press, a Christchurch paper. Radio New Zealand also reported that some roads had been rendered impassable, and that several of the city’s bridges had been damaged.

"Just unbelievable," Christchurch resident Kevin O’Hanlon told The Press. "I was awake to go to work and then just heard the massive noise and, boom, it was like the house got hit. It just started shaking. I’ve never felt anything like it."

As aftershocks continue to shake the region, half of Christchurch’s central business district is without power, Radio New Zealand reported, and water pipes and sewer lines across the area are said to have been ruptured.

Earthquakes on New Zealand’s South Island are most often caused by the collision of the Australian and Pacific tectonic plates.

Booking a cruise

I would like to know everyones best way to booking a cruise. Who they use and why. I am looking to book a cruise and would like to cut out the middle man and go directly through a agent or company. In my town, the TA’s go thruough other companys to book. which in turn we get charged twice for TA charges. Any internet companys to book right on the internet? Thanks much!!
